Insurance Defense Case Manager (Hybrid Role) Position Summary:

We are seeking an Insurance Defense Case Manager to join our team in handling a wide variety of insurance claims, including Commercial and General Liability, Construction, Labor Law 240, and more. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment, and a talent for thinking creatively to uncover crucial information. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a challenging caseload, conducting thorough investigations, and providing top-notch support to our clients.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse and challenging caseload, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Review case files and relevant materials, utilizing various resources to obtain a comprehensive understanding of each investigation.
  • Conduct searches through proprietary, public, and restricted databases to locate targets or perform background checks on subjects.
  • Professionally interact with Adjusters, Attorneys, Insureds, Independent Witnesses, and other relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with Field Investigators to coordinate assignments and provide immediate support when needed.
  • Conduct exploratory and recorded statements with Fact Witnesses via telephone, in-person, or Zoom.
  • Draft contact letters to witnesses and insured parties.
  • Implement a diary system to monitor caseload and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Provide daily or weekly status updates to clients regarding ongoing investigations.
  • Offer trial support, including arranging witness and expert testimonies.
  • Request and collect records from various agencies to support investigations.
  • Qualify for New Jersey Notary Commissions and/or New York State Notary designations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience in private investigation, insurance claims, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and relevant software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to "think outside the box."
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently.
